The history of St Anne's church
The roots of the site reach back to a church associated with Saint Wenceslas in the 10th century, followed by Romanesque and Gothic phases and centuries of religious use.
From church to cultural centre
After the church was deconsecrated and later adapted for secular use, the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97 began its restoration at the end of the 1990s.
Architecture by Eva Jiřičná
The modern reconstruction was developed according to plans by architect Eva Jiřičná, preserving the historic character while enabling a new cultural and social purpose.
Event formats the space suits
Today the venue hosts lectures, concerts, discussions, exhibitions and ceremonial gatherings, making it especially effective when the programme itself carries cultural or intellectual weight.
