Part of the western State Rooms
Rothmayer Hall forms part of the western wing of Prague Castle’s State Rooms, the monumental sequence completed after the establishment of Czechoslovakia and used as part of the representative route into the palace.
Architecture by Otto Rothmayer
The hall belongs to the important interventions associated with architect Otto Rothmayer, a pupil and collaborator of Jože Plečnik who later worked independently on Prague Castle.
The interior and its proportions
Compared with the richly decorated northern halls, Rothmayer Hall is calmer and more architectural. Its proportions, stone floor, warm timber ceiling and disciplined rhythm make event styling especially visible.
Dinners and receptions in the hall
For a seated dinner, confirm the table plan together with the circulation and service routes. The hall’s restrained interior makes lighting and table design particularly visible; installations must remain compatible with the venue’s operating and conservation requirements.
