What the figure describes
Prague Castle’s visitor service gives the area of the complex as almost 70,000 m², equivalent to approximately seven hectares. It also cites Guinness recognition as the world’s largest coherent castle complex. That description concerns an ensemble of buildings and spaces, not the floor area of one palace.
A practical way to understand the site
Courtyards link the principal monuments, while garden routes extend around the edges. A visit to a church, a palace interior and a garden involves different kinds of access. Entry to the grounds should not be confused with admission to every building.
